Galerie Wolfgang Jahn

The gallery was founded in 1983 under the name Karl Pfefferle and consistently championed painterly positions in contemporary art. In the early years, the most important exponents of the “Junge Wilden” were shown. Three of them, Georg Jiri Dokoupil, Rainer Fetting and Bernd Zimmer, are still represented by the gallery today.
Since the 1990s, Galerie Karl Pfefferle has increasingly opened up to conceptually oriented painting, which works in different ways with pictorial means against the background of multi-layered cultural influences. These include the Istanbul-born Ekrem Yalcindag, the New York painter Peter Schuyff and the Cologne artist Leif Trenkler.
Since September 2019, the gallery has been run by Landshut gallery owner Wolfgang Jahn under the name JAHN PFEFFERLE. Wolfgang Jahn, who has been in contact with Karl Pfefferle since the beginning of his gallery activity, not only shares his passion and understanding for art, but also represents and promotes artists in his Landshut gallery who have already been part of Karl Pfefferle’s gallery program.
Many of the artists that Karl Pfefferle has championed over the past decades will continue to be represented in the gallery. At the same time, Wolfgang Jahn sets new accents and constantly expands the gallery program with further exciting and interesting artists.
