Galerie Bernd Dürr

Galerie Bernd Dürr was opened on September 1, 1971 by Bernd Dürr in Munich, on Kurfürstenstraße near the Siegestor. Dürr exhibited paintings by the Munich Secession, the Scholle, the Munich New Secession and other contemporary artists who were little known and hardly noticed at the time. Through his exhibitions and publications, he introduced interested circles to these works of art and helped the works and artists to gain recognition. The gallery’s regular customers included students, university staff, entrepreneurs and collectors. Galerie Bernd Dürr moved to the center of Munich in the mid-1970s, first to Schellingstraße, then to Galeriestraße am Hofgarten. From 1983 to 1990, Galerie Bernd Dürr was located at Maximiliansplatz 20. The gallery also had exhibition rooms at Maximilianstraße 29. Since 1990, Galerie Bernd Dürr has been located at Oberföhringer Straße 12 in Bogenhausen. Further exhibition rooms are located at Possartstraße 35.
