Susanne Zuehlke (Malerei) & Christian Rudolph (Skulptur)

Paragone! The Mythology of Color and Form

04.07.2025 – 17.08.2025

In a contemporary reinterpretation of the legendary contest between the arts, we present the two exhibitions of Susanne Zuehlke (painting) and Christian Rudolph (sculpture). The historical debate between color (colore) and line (disegno) finds new expression here—as a dynamic encounter between two artistic approaches that both complement and challenge each other. Using the traditional technique of egg tempera painting, Susanne Zuehlke fully explores the power of color: in her abstract compositions, color itself becomes the bearer of expression and movement. In contrast, Christian Rudolph’s perfectly crafted stainless steel sculptures focus on tracing the movement of a light source in the dark. Through precise linear execution in the material, this fleeting, time-based process is made visible. Thus, painterly sensuality and sculptural rigor meet—engaging in a dialogue that redefines the essence of both disciplines.
