Hybrid States
04.07.2025 – 31.07.2025
Today’s world is an exciting assemblage of analog and digital realities, bodies and data, order and chaos. The exhibition “Hybrid States” explores the creative power of error and the fluid connection between virtual and physical forms. Glitches and hybrid techniques permeate the works of the international artists: Claudia Hart creates 3D-printed chrome figurines that oscillate between simulation and sculpture. Béla Juttner’s performance “The Diva 1.0” uses drag and lipsync to explore the tensions between voice, body and identity in the technological age. Gretta Louw interweaves embroidery with digital image production, while Rosa Menkman uses visual disruption to question prevailing narratives about technology and society. In “Hybrid States”, the in-between becomes the actual space of art. The works open up new perspectives on the interconnectedness of our digital world and invite us to explore the boundaries of technology, identity and reality anew. Text: Olivia Liesner
