Naho Matsuda
Tracing the ocean with your hands
27.06.2025 – 11.07.2025
Naho Matsuda deals with non-verbal communication in her artistic practice. At the centre of her exhibition are diving signs used in the sighting of marine fauna. She is showing drawings that poetically interpret these gestures, a video work and several glass objects. In a disillusioned, enlightened age, Hannah Hyun Jeong wonders whether fairies and spirits could exist in the form of birds. Moved by a deep longing for a mystical world, she presents a fairytale-like visual cosmos populated by fleeting, winged creatures. And at the end of the summer semester, the entire Academy opens its doors again – it’s the annual exhibition! Students from all semesters and degree programmes show their latest work in the Historical Building and in the garden. The entire spectrum of teaching at the Academy is on display.
