The H2O exhibition features seven contemporary artist positions. This multi-layered show spans the spectrum between abstract painting, realistic representation and sculpture. The works of the participating artists reflect water as a symbol of change, fluidity and impermanence. Abstract paintings bring the fluidity to life in dynamic layers of color and gestural brushstrokes, while realistic depictions capture the delicate, reflective surfaces and deep structures of water in impressive detail. Particular attention is paid to the materiality of water in the sculptures, in which the element itself is used as a lively, flowing component of the artwork, thus enabling a direct, tactile experience of the natural medium. This exhibition invites visitors to understand water not only as a physical element, but also to explore its symbolic meaning – as an origin, a source of life and a metaphor for constant change.
