Eberhard Ross – resonance / sehenswert: Friederike Walter
Malerei
08.11.2024 – 20.12.2024
Resonance is a phenomenon in which a body is stimulated from the outside to vibrate at a certain frequency. In Eberhard Ross’ artistic work, this already begins in the painting process: the artist dedicates himself to the completion of his works to classical-jazz music and in meditative work. The melody carries him from one layer of paint to the next. He applies light-giving colors from the warm spectrum of red and yellow in fine gradients on top of each other.
As part of his solo exhibition resonance, Eberhard Ross is presenting individual works by the painter Friederike Walter under the format *sehenswert. Both are united by their conception of painting, working in fine color gradients, both deal with light and pictorial space and come to different results. In Friederike Walter’s case, it is the architectural pictorial space in the first sense, but the impression of space always remains vague and puts the viewer in a state of suspenseful limbo. Surfaces and contours appear blurred and form fine contrasts. Light and shadows lend the paintings the fleeting character of a snapshot. You can look forward to seeing how the works of these two painters resonate with each other.
