Brigitte Schwacke und Ernst Wild

03.07.2025 – 20.07.2025

Brigitte Schwacke draws in space. Her floating sculptures made of thin alloyed metal wires, as well as her wire “textures” and fabrics, create shapes in the air, as if drawn with a pencil. Her structures enclose and delimit emptiness; the space is structured, incorporated, and thus becomes an integral part of the work. Brigitte Schwacke’s art is dematerialized. Lines condense and dissolve. Her spatial drawings constantly open new perspectives – one sees inside and outside simultaneously. (C. Weber) Ernst Wild (1924-1985) was a defining figure in the Munich art scene from the 1960s to 1980s. In Ernst Wild’s works, the first impression is of spontaneity, of loose and intuitive painting. However, one then realizes that they were meticulously planned; nothing is accidental; every form and every color is used with solid, well-considered consideration. Even the first sketch reveals the typical composition, regardless of the trigger: all impressions are processed on a kind of stage, a pedestal, against a background of some kind.
