St. Ursula

Sankt Ursula – Schwabing cathedral. Enjoy the evening sun on the steps with a glass in your hand. That Italian feeling!

Schwabing

21. April 2026

To be precise: Adalbertstraße is the border between Maxvorstadt and Schwabing. So we start here at lunchtime with a schnitzel in the Max-Emauel-Brauerei. And then we’re off. We take a detour to the Akademiegalerie in the Zwischengeschoss subway station, then walk past the Akademie der Bildenden Künste (pictured right) into the real Schwabing.

The tour continues via the Metropol Kunstraum at Georgenstraße 42 to Serial Thoughts and on to the Eres Foundation at Römerstr. 25 – Messengers from above.

“Max Emanuel Brewery – pub and beer garden. Traditional pub with a modern twist and the best schnitzel in town!” Barbara Ruetz from the Gallery at the Pinakothek der Moderne

Wir halten Kurs auf den Pündter Platz und kommen so am Venezia am Kurfürstenplatz vorbei. Das Venezia ist seit Jahrzehnten beliebt  mit seiner perfekten Mischung aus Eis- und Straßencafé.

We walk through beautiful Schwabing streets to Pündter Platz and thus to Autorengalerie 1, where we see the wonderful exhibition by Jean-Marie Bottequin.

Our way back takes us across Ursulaplatz, past the church and along Hohenzollernstraße. Schwabingers will find everything they need here – food, clothes, cafés. So we stroll through here on the way to the Chinese Tower – one of the most beautiful places in Munich in summer. Cool off in the Eisbach before or after a visit to the beer garden and then on to the Carol Johnssen Gallery. Rune Mields is waiting there. Under the sign of creation myths.
