Our gallery tour starts in Innere Wiener Straße and ends at Wiener Platz.
Around
Haidhausen & Bogenhausen
On our way to the Lothringer Halle, we stop by the Fat Cat. The former Gasteig is now the Fat Cat cultural center. What can we expect there today? The operators say: “Our building, the former Gasteig, is being renovated and is empty. We want to avoid vacancies and are therefore transforming the building into the Fat Cat Cultural Center on a temporary basis. Almost 200 offices are now studios and rehearsal rooms for tenants, breakout catering counters are now bars, lecture rooms are theater stages… The large halls host concerts, theater, ballet, raves, comedy, conferences, trade fairs, etc.” First get an overview in the cultural roof garden. Or have a small breakfast in the Community Kitchen before continuing towards Lothringer Halle in Lothringer Straße. The exhibition Anarchic Animism is on show there.
Das Fat Cat in der Kellerstraße 8.

It’s just a stone’s throw from the Lothringer Halle to the arToxin gallery, to Julia Smirnova’s exhibition. On display are photographs, installations and objects. On Saturday, July 5 at 2.30pm, Markus Schön will be playing the clarinet as part of the cooperation with the Opera Festival, performing Claude Debussy: Syrinx, Ilse Fromm-Michaels: Stimmungen eines Fauns op. 11 and Șerban Nichifor: Carnyx (Dionisies VI)
Gallery arToxin (Kirchenstr. 23) You can find all the stops on the Stelldichein walking concerts here.

For lunch, we stop off at the Gaststätte zum Kloster. A cozy inn with seasonal cuisine and rural flair. With a small beer garden under cherry trees. A meeting place for locals and guests in a relaxed atmosphere.
Now our path leads us to IRA STEHMANN FINE ART to see the wonderful exhibition by Vivian Maier. She is one of the most fascinating personalities in the history of photography.
If we hadn’t eaten enough already – from there to La Cucina – typically Italian! “The best linguine agli scampi in town.” Ira Stehmann
We walk on, our destination will be Wiener Platz, from where we can hop on the streetcar home.
Our next stop is Alexa von Harder – a café with the finest patisserie in Ismanninger Straße. Here we treat ourselves to a coffee and a small tart. We have recharged our batteries to go and see the exhibition Viola Bittl, Suite B., Neue Bilder und Papierarbeiten at Walter Storms in Ismanninger Straße 51.

We then continue past the Villa Stuck to Maria-Theresia-Straße. We turn left into the street and see beautiful villas in the stately style of the Prince Regent era. We now leave Bogenhausen along this street and walk to Haidhausen, with the villas on the left and the Maximilian complexes on the right, which extend over the slope of the Isar high bank to the Isar.
The street ends at Wiener Platz and we stroll across the market to our streetcar. But we still spend the evening here – in the Unterfahrt jazz club or in the Chez Fritz brasserie. A classic brasserie with a cozy atmosphere. The best evenings are spent outside in summer on Preysingplatz with a view of the church.
